What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product

Camera
We learnt how to operate a camera correctly and the setting up of a certain shots. We did this having a practice shoot before we did it properly.

My Dad advising Tom on how to operate the camera
For most of the outside shots we used my Dad's camera and he taught us how to use it correctly and gave us some other technical support (extracting files off the big camera).

For the indoor shots we ran out of time to do practice shoots but we knew how to use the school cameras from our work on the preliminary piece so it was down the story board (with some alterations due to some location inconveniences) to plan the indoor scenes.

Tripod
When filming with my dad's big camera we were taught how to set up its larger tripod as well as his camera. We used the tripod to do smooth, steady shots and low angle shots of me walking.
Also we already knew how to use the school tripod from the preliminary piece with the camera. We used the tripod In the thriller to gain a constant stable shot of Tom in the office.

Premiere pro 6

I used premiere pro CS6 before for my YouTube channel and I used it In the preliminary piece but it was CS4. After the preliminary piece we added titles to it  And some images as some practice with titles. This taught use how To add and modify titles with colours, font, and effects.
When we initially added the title we diced that we needed to do them again because they were too big and in the wrong order. So we changed the size of the text with the titles position slightly  to make them stand out less. We decided to use these titles because it makes the thriller look more professional.

Coomber sound recorder and the boundary mic

We have never use this before so we had to do lots of takes with it so we could get a good sounding take. We used it to record the voice over and the dialog being spoken by the actors so it is clearer to hear. The way we did some of the Dialog takes (including the final one) out side to make it sound more in place because the indoor takes sounded out of place.

Mix craft 5
We used Mix craft to produce the sound for the thriller. None of use has used the software before so we each had a little go at seeing what we could make, this also helped use find the feel for the music in the piece.

Blogger

We used the blog to keep up to date with each other and to organise our research and planning.

We used YouTube to look at the openings of thrillers and other types of films and use the internet to research other types of  thrillers.
